The head of the department is a traumatologist-orthopedist of the highest qualification category, candidate of medical sciences - Ruziev Norpulot Turaevich.

The department specializes in the performance of high-tech and reconstructive operations on the extremities in congenital and acquired pathology using modern surgical methods.

The department has 35 beds located in 1-2 and 4-bed wards. The department employs highly qualified medical personnel. The staff of the department: head of the department, doctor of the highest qualification category, Ph.D. Ruziev N.T., doctor of the highest qualification category Zhuraboev A.A.

The department deals with the treatment of the following pathologies:

♦ Congenital and acquired limb shortening;

♦ Consequences of rickets and rickets-like (varus and valgus) deformities of the limbs;

♦ Congenital and acquired pathologies of the hand and foot;

♦ Arthrogrippus;

♦ Systemic pathology of the limbs;

♦ Osteogenesis imperfecta;

♦ Congenital and acquired bone pathologies.

In the department, patients with congenital deformities of the limbs are treated conservatively and operatively from the early period of the child's life. Compression-distraction method of treatment of children with various deformities is widely used: lengthening, shortening, elimination of bone curvature, elimination of contractures, dislocations and arthrodesis of joints.

Every year, about 800 children with congenital and acquired limb deformities receive treatment at the department. Of these, up to 70 patients with congenital shortening and about 300 patients with various limb deformities. Surgical operations for pathologies (clubfoot, clubfoot, shortening, joint contractures) of the extremities, methods of transosseous correction with an external fixation apparatus are performed in more than 250 patients per year.

The department annually performs more than 350 reconstructive and restorative operations of all categories of complexity.

The department's specialists perform the following types of surgical interventions:

♦ Various corrective osteotomies of the bones of the lower extremities.

♦ Elongation of the bones of the lower extremities.

♦ Reduction of the shin bones and stabilization of the knee joint.

♦ Creation of the femoral-peroneal joint.

♦ Creation of the ankle fork.

♦ Correction of flexion contracture of the knee joint with the Ilizarov apparatus.

♦ Correction of foot deformities using the Ilizarov apparatus.

♦ Imposition of the Ilizarov apparatus on the forearms and hands with clubhand.

♦ Hemiepiphysiodesis in varus and hallux valgus of the knee joint.

♦ Bone plastic surgery for false joints.

♦ Soft tissue surgeries for extension and flexion contractures of the knee and elbow joints.

♦ Operations Kumar-Cowel-Ramse and Evans.

Scientific and clinical developments of the department employees are protected by numerous copyright certificates and patents, scientific articles are set forth and arouse the unflagging interest of colleagues, both in our country and abroad.

The department employees constantly participate in domestic and international conferences, symposia, congresses on traumatology and orthopedics, are members of the Association of Traumatologists and Orthopedists of Uzbekistan and have been trained in leading orthopedic clinics in the CIS.

The specialists of the department carry out consultations in the consultative and diagnostic department of the center.

To determine the development strategy of the department and the choice of treatment tactics for specific patients, master classes, conferences, and consultations with an analysis of complex cases are regularly held.
